Spring is looking like it is arriving early and we have issues that need to be watched
DuPont Imprelis Tree Damage
DuPont's Imprelis was used by many companies over the last two seasons. We never
used it as we use our organic weed controls. This product has been killing a
large number of trees and DuPont has set up a claims process for tree replacement
and compensation to the property owner.
We are now registered with DuPont to aid the property owners with the claims
process and tree replacement. This process costs you nothing as we are paid by
DuPont to inspect and replace the damaged or dead trees.
If you had our services last year this does not mean you have escaped the
potential for tree damage or death. If your neighbors to either side of the
property or your back had Imprelis applied to their property it appears to travel
into your property.
Any tree damage should be reported to us so we can inspect and investigate the
issue and aid you in the claims process.
Your first step is to identify damage. Any browning to your evergreen trees
usually means someone in your neighborhood had Imprelis applied.
The second step is to contact your neighbors to see if they have records showing
that this product was applied. If they do not have those records they need to
call their lawn service and get copies of the application records showing when,
how much and how often was it applied.

It is also important to look around your entire neighborhood for damaged/browning
evergreen trees. This is an issue that will affect the appearance of your entire
neighborhood. Contact that property owner and have them call us.
Any property that has damage will need extra care when mowing. Clippings cannot be
mulched. They must be bagged and at this point thrown in the garbage according
the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
I do not agree with this recommendation at this point as I believe putting them in
your garbage will then go to the land fill. You are not allowed to compost as the
compost will then kill your garden.
Other Trees/Plants outside of evergreens appear to be damaged also.
Keep an eye out for all of this and report it to us.
Landscaping
Due to the strange weather we have had this winter it appears the frost is leaving

Plow damage
Due to the excessive amounts of snow many people are going to have damaged boulevards and other
grass areas. These areas need to be addressed prior to weeds filling in the damaged areas.
You can put the grass back (if you can find it) or add bagged topsoil, then lime and over seed.
Keep this moist to ensure proper germination and development. If this is too big of a job or

Salt damage
This year again has been a heavy year of salt applications on our roadways. Many areas of your
grass may be dead already from this salt. To aid in the recovery process please use a broom or
blower as soon as possible to sweep this off into the street.
Then lime at 50lbs per 1,000 sq ft and if possible spray hydrogen peroxide over the area using
a hand sprayer or hose end sprayer at a rate of 1 pint per 1,000 sq ft of the infected area.
This will aid in the neutralization of the salts and help prevent further damage.
